Do away with the old printer software

The very first thing that you have to do is to do away with the old printer software. Firstly, uninstall the old printer support from your Mac. Go to, Printers & Scanners and delete the old printers and scanners added there. Additionally, go to applications/utilities and uninstall the old printer software

Switch on the printer

Now, switch on your printer and connect it to a network. You may connect through a wired or a wireless connection.

Add your printer

The third step would be to add your printer. Tap on the option, Printers & Scanners. As you have removed all old printers associated, it should be empty now. Now, tap on the option, click Add (+) to set up a printer. Then, from the available list of printers select your printer.

Once you have added the printer, now it’s time to test if it is working properly. Try printing a photo and verify if the printing specifications are correct, if not you will have to install the printer software

Printer software install

You can install your printer software either from Mac OS or from the HP support website. You can initially try with the software made available by Mac and if it is not working go to hp printer support  and then, type the model and give the Operating system as Mac and download the software. Furthermore, extract the software once the download is done.

Drivers install
